Des Moines International Airport Parking

Des Moines International Airport has several parking lots within its campus. An airport shuttle is designated to serve only these parking lots.

Located right across the terminal entrance, the Short Term parking lot has about 234 slots. The fee for every 20 mins of parking or a portion thereof is $1, with the first 20 minutes being free of charge. The maximum charge per day is $38.

Behind the Short Term Parking Lot is the Long Term Premium parking which has about 90 slots. It charges $1 for every 20 minutes with a maximum of $26 per day.

Beside the Long Term Premium lot is the regular Long Term parking with around 1670 slots. It also charges $1 for every 20 minutes, however, it only has a maximum charge of $16 per day.

The difference between long-term premium and regular long-term parking is the distance from the terminal building exit vestibules.

Long Term Premium parking is located on the ground floor which is nearer and more convenient for passengers arriving in DSM.

Other options are the economy lot which is a bit farther from the terminal building but cost only $2 per hour.

Economy 1 Red Parking, located at 6215 Fleur Drive, has around 745 slots and can charge $8 per day.

Economy 2 Blue Parking, located at Cowles Drive, has around 622 slots. It also has a maximum fee of $8 per day.

The nearest to the exit is Economy 3 Green Parking located across from Economy 2 Blue Parking with about 345 slots. It cost $10 per day.

Economy 4 Gray Parking, located along the South Airport Frontage Road, has about 1755 parking slots and a maximum fee of $6 per day.

For those who are waiting for a passenger to arrive, a Cell Phone Parking Lot is available and free of use for 20 minutes only. It is a small parking lot with about 34 slots. Vehicles should be moved to paid parking lots when the 20-minute marker is up.
